Back By Popular Demand

Don't worry. I know you've all been really stressed out lately because I havent posted on my xanga. Not to worry, I am back and posting once again. So here's a quote that I heard the other day that has really hit home with me. "If you want to ultimately be in God's will in the future, then make it you're ultimate goal to be in His will for today." Once I really got a hold on that it gave me a new sense of freedom. God's desire is for me to strive for what He has for me in the moments He's given me TODAY! If I put myself in the center of God's will today, and continue in that pursuit, then 1 year or 5 years or 20 years down the road I will be in the exact place that my Father wants me to be. Don't look so far in front or behind that you lose track of what is right in front of you. "The past is history, the future is a mystery, and today is a gift, which is why it's called the present."

Here's some song lyrics. Let me know what you think of them!

Verse 1:

Here I am once again

Ashamed of all my pride and sin

And after all this heart’s been through

I know that all I want is You

Come inside me, redefine

My soul, my will, my heart’s cry

Chorus:

More of You and less of me

Lord consume me, set me free

I bow down low and lift you high

Oh let Your name be glorified

Your light bright and my light dim

Illuminate me from within

Shape me so the world can see

More of You and less of me

Less of Me

Verse 2:

How could I have been so proud

Oh let me throw these idols down

Burn them with your holy fire

Replace them with a pure desire

I’m on the alter, here I lay

Let the offering of my life say

The Big Apple

This summer I've been blessed with the amazing opportunity to travel with my college to church camps all over the country. I'm so psyched about this, but yesterday I got some news that made my summer travel plans even more amazing! Apparently we we're going to have a week off from camps during the first week of August, but now instead of having a week off we're are going to New York City! I've always wanted to go to New York and now I've finally got the chance. I love to travel and when I heard that we we're going to be in NYC I totally flipped out! Why am I telling you all this you ask? Because now I want you to leave me a comment about where you would travel to if you could go anywhere in the world. Don't leave me hanging...fill me in on your fantasy travel plans!

What Are You Waiting For?

So this week at school I dont have regular classes, and what makes it even better is that I have no homework!!!! No before you start saying that you hate me and throwing things in a jealous rage, let me give you the rest of the story. So Monday morning I woke up expecting to have an amazing homework free day, and to my utter horror I realized that I was sick!!!!! Not horribly sick, but just enough to ruin my day. So in light of me being sick I did what any other normal human being would do, I took drugs. Not the bad, illegal, sold on the street corner drugs, but the ones that come in nice little packages at the store and say "Sinus Medicine" on the side. The medicine seemed to help a little bit, and by Tuesday I was feeling much better. If only that was the way things ended. For you see this morning when I woke up I was sick, again. So you see my "week off" from classes hasnt been going so well. I'm trying to decide which is better: a week off of classes and being sick, or feeling better and having homework to do. Suprisingly I'm acutally leaning towards the homework. I'm not sure if that's a rational decision or just the drugs talking, but either way I think this is the first time in my life I've actually missed homework.

Psalm 36

The Psalms are so amazing!! They are so full of truth and spiritual refreshment. The other day I was reading Psalm 36 and verses 7-10 just jumped out at me. This is a song that came from the impact of those verses.

How precious is your loving kindness

How deep it flows my King

You are my Rock, my Refuge

Overshadow me with Your wings

Your glory shines so bright and fair

Lord nothing on this earth can compare

For you are the Giver of Life

And I drink from Your fountain of delight

My joy flows from Your abundant spring

And that’s why I lift my voice to sing
